WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A pair of congressional Democrats spent Friday morning in West Palm Beach discussing the widespread impact of the Trump administration's immigration enforcement policies on Palm Beach County communities.
Representative Lois Frankel and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark met with immigration advocates, local government leaders, clergy members and other community stakeholders to address concerns about how immigration enforcement affects not just immigrant families, but the entire Palm Beach County community.
Local, state, and national leaders are calling for a change in immigration enforcement alongside local advocates and community leaders right here in Palm Beach County.
The roundtable conversation featured Rep. Lois Frankel, Florida Senate Minority Leader Lori Berman, House Democratic WHIP Katherine Clark, and Palm Beach County Commissioner Joel Flores.
They were joined by local school leaders, immigration outreach services, religious leaders, and an immigration attorney.
Community members said immigration enforcement has negatively impacted families and economies.
