WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement:
“House Democrats are committed to building an economy where everyone has a fair shot at success — good pay and secure benefits; affordable housing, health care, and child care; and the guarantee of a hard-earned, dignified retirement.
Katherine Clark is already one of the most powerful women in Congress, but her influence will be magnified if the Democrats regain control of the US House of Representatives on November 5.
“Child care doesn't have to send families into debt. Parenthood doesn't have to be a financial puzzle. Care work doesn't have to come with high turnover, low wages, disrespect, and the lack of a true voice on the job. Not if we choose to do something about it in the weeks ahead.”
