“House Democrats are committed to building an economy where everyone has a fair shot at success — good pay and secure benefits; affordable housing, health care, and child care; and the guarantee of a hard-earned, dignified retirement.

“Child care doesn't have to send families into debt. Parenthood doesn't have to be a financial puzzle. Care work doesn't have to come with high turnover, low wages, disrespect, and the lack of a true voice on the job. Not if we choose to do something about it in the weeks ahead.”

KINGSTON, NY — Democratic Whip Katherine Clark released the following statement:

“The world is a safer place without Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. He was the architect of the heinous October 7th attack and plotted against the Israeli people for decades. Because of him, more than 1,200 civilians — including 40 Americans — were murdered, and hundreds were kidnapped. 

"Sinwar was an unyielding obstacle to peace. Now, we have an opportunity to move forward.

“One year ago, Hamas committed acts of evil, murdering more than 1,200 civilians — including forty Americans — and kidnapping hundreds more. Today, families are still mourning. Hostages are still being held by Hamas. We are witnessing a disturbing rise in antisemitism across the globe. The United States stands with Israel and its right to defeat Hamas and other terrorist organizations who threaten Israel’s existence.
