  • Suspension Bills: Today, the House will consider several bills on the Suspension calendar.  Bills considered on the Suspension calendar are debatable for 40 minutes; may not be amended; and require a two-thirds vote for passage.  If a recorded vote is requested, it will be postponed.

    1. H.Res.98 - Honoring the life and achievements of the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior and reaffirming the continued commitment of the House of Representatives to a just and lasting peace in the Republic of the Sudan (Rep. Payne – Foreign Affairs)

    2. H.R. 987 – To endorse further enlargement of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and to facilitate the timely admission of new members to NATO, and for other purposes (Rep. Tanner – Foreign Affairs)

    3. H.Res.149 - Supporting the goals of International Women's Day (Rep. Schakowsky – Foreign Affairs)
