Floor Schedule and Procedure

  • Suspension Bills: Today, the House will consider several bills on the Suspension calendar.  Bills considered on the Suspension calendar are debatable for 40 minutes; may not be amended; and require a two-thirds vote for passage.  If a recorded vote is requested, it will be postponed.
  1. H.R. 753 – To redesignate the Federal building located at 167 North Main Street in Memphis, Tennessee, as the "Clifford Davis/Odell Horton Federal Building" (Rep. Cohen – Transportation and Infrastructure)

  2. H.R. 1019 – To designate the United States customhouse building located at 31 Gonzalez Clemente Avenue in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, as the "Rafael Martinez Nadal United States Customhouse Building"   (Rep. Fortuño – Transportation and Infrastructure) 

  3. H.R. 1138 - To designate the Federal building and United States courthouse located at 306 East Main Street in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, as the "J. Herbert W. Small Federal Building and United States Courthouse" (Rep. Butterfield - Transportation)

  4. H.R. 802 - Maritime Pollution Prevention Act of 2007 (Rep. Oberstar –  Transportation and Infrastructure) 

  5. H.R. 1195 - To amend the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users to make technical corrections, and for other purposes (Rep. Oberstar – Transportation and Infrastructure)

  6. H.Res.___ - Supporting the goals and ideals of Professional Social Work Month and the World Social Work Day (Rep. Shea-Porter – Education and Labor) 

  7. H.R. 1468 - Disadvantaged Business Disaster Eligibility Act (Rep. Jefferson – Small Business)

  8. H.R. 137 - Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act of 2007 (Reps. Gallegly, Blumenauer – Judiciary)

  9. H.R. 580 - To amend chapter 35 of title 28, United States Code, to provide for a 120-day limit to the term of a United States attorney appointed on an            interim basis by the Attorney General, and for other purposes (Rep. Berman – Judiciary)
